Team Leader, Early Childhood Education - Shepparton

We need you to lead our dedicated team to maximise the impact of our programs on the lives of children and families. You'll foster lasting links with the community, develop the capacity of local workers and encourage active engagement with the services that we're proud to deliver.

Where you come in:

In this part-time fixed term position (22.8 flexible hours per week across four to five days through to end December 2021), you'll lead 12 staff members (approximately 7 FTE) to deliver our Early Childhood Education programs across Northern Victoria, including our 40 place Mooroopna Kindergarten. You'll be responsible for the operational running of programs, budget management and supporting your staff, including providing their professional supervision. Based in our Shepparton office (with flexibility to work from home), you'll report to our Regional Manager, Northern Victoria & NSW Riverina.

You will make an impact by:

  • Overseeing the day to day operational and administrative requirements in our Northern Victorian Early Childhood Education programs, including our Mooroopna Kindergarten
  • Building and maintaining effective professional networks and relationships to promote programs, generate support and create effective referral pathways
  • Providing regular leadership to the program team, made up of early childhood educators and assistants, family support workers and other program staff through coaching and professional supervision
  • Managing relevant program budgets and collecting outcome data
  • Monitoring programs to ensure contractual obligations with funding bodies and compliance with legislative requirements are met

This role requires:

  • Proven leadership skills including a demonstrated ability to build and nurture a cohesive team
  • Experience working with teams supporting children and families from diverse backgrounds
  • Experience in Early Childhood Education settings would be highly regarded
  • Thorough knowledge of child protection issues and commitment to upholding the child protection processes
  • Demonstrated experience in managing budgets and collecting outcome data
  • A degree or diploma qualification in a relevant field, or extensive equivalent experience
  • A valid driver's licence
