When disasters strike, children are always the most vulnerable. That's why Save the Children stands ready to deploy, providing immediate psychosocial support and staying as long as it takes to help children and families recover from their losses, restore their lives and build their resilience for years to come. Our newly established Journey of Hope (JoH) program works directly with children in schools, led by facilitators who are professionally trained in managing child trauma. We need a passionate leader to drive our dedicated team to maximise the impact of the JoH program on the lives of children and families.

Where you come in:

In this full-time, fixed term position (six months, with potential to extend), you'll lead a team of facilitators to deliver the JoH program throughout the Greater Sydney region. You'll work in partnership with schools and early childhood providers, ensuring high quality service delivery in accordance with the agreed implementation plan. You'll work in the fire affected communities around the Greater Sydney region (locations to be confirmed as the program rolls out), and will report to our Operations Manager - Journey of Hope.

You will make an impact by:

• Overseeing the day to day operational and administrative requirements of the JoH program
• Building successful relationships with schools, childcare centres and the community, including other local service providers to maintain strong referral pathways
• Providing regular leadership to the program team through coaching and professional supervision
• Monitoring program contracts to ensure contractual obligations are met
• Presenting JoH to key stakeholders to garner support for the delivery of the program

Your engaging approach helps you motivate high-performing teams, and you're committed to the highest standards of service delivery. You're proactive, creative and flexible in your approach to working with families and children, using a trauma-informed, strengths-based framework.

This role requires:

• Demonstrated experience in working with children and families who have experienced trauma, including bushfires
• Proven leadership skills and the ability to nurture a cohesive team
• High level of communication, relationship management and organisational skills
• A degree or diploma qualification in a relevant field
• Valid driver's licence and prepared to travel in the region
