Our Strategic Communications and Engagement Specialist will be part of a team helping to change the lives of millions of children around the world.

Working with Library For All's team of highly engaged education and technology specialists you'll create exciting new content, both technical and emotive copy, to win new funding. The role suits a proactive and confident communicator with the proven ability to adapt their style and tone for a wide range of audiences. As a motivated self-starter, the role will support the wider Business Development Team in winning new business.

Where you come in:

In this full-time, permanent position, based in your choice of Melbourne, Brisbane or Sydney, you will be responsible for strategically developing written proposals, completing bid applications, stewarding supporters through emotive communications and producing analytical impact reports for existing funders. The role, reporting to the Head of Business Development, has a strong delivery focus supporting all Business Development functions by strategically tailoring content to engage both prospective and existing funders.

You will make an impact by strategically developing:

  • Bid submissions - lead, initiate and deliver successful high-value proposals, including reactive tenders and grant submissions, proactive proposals, pitches and supporting collateral. This includes a regular market scan for new business opportunities.
  • Supporter engagement - produce tailored, compelling, and persuasive copy that tells the story of how our learning interventions are making a difference in the lives of children around the world.
  • Impact Reports - Research and analyse complex problems and evaluate the outcomes from Library For All's direct interventions, to produce impact reports showcasing our successes to funders and the wider general public.
  • Stewardship - maintain and develop relationships with institutional funders, global INGOs, foundations and more.
  • Key messages & brand - maintain and update the Business Development teams collateral in line with LFA's brand and key messages.

Does this sound like you?

You're an experienced senior communication and/or bids specialists who thrives in a highly innovative, agile, and high performing environment. You'll have proven experience in creating copy and leading funding submissions for an INGO/NGO. You'll demonstrate an ability to set and achieve bold objectives, whilst working autonomously in a fast-growing organisation with strong ambitions. Importantly, you'll share our passion for delivering better educational outcomes for children using technology as an enabler.

This role requires:

  • 5+ years of experience in the production of exceptional content/copy in a broad range of communication styles
  • Track record in high-value acquisition for an NGO/INGO, ideally in the International Development sector or similar
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Creative and strategic thinking and planning
  • Self-motivated with the ability to autonomously work to a task or deadline
  • Time management with the ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines
  • High level of attention to quality and detail
  • A collaborative approach to stakeholder management
  • Ability to understand and accept the requirements for sensitive/confidentiality when handling information
  • Good diplomatic skills and cultural awareness

Desired knowledge or experience

  • Experience in gathering content directly from NGO/INGO programs
  • Digital graphic design experience

Required qualifications and/or accreditations

  • Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience)

Position Description - Strategic Communications and Engagement Specialist.

*While COVID-19 social distancing restrictions are in place, this role works remotely (i.e. from home or an alternative location). Once the pandemic restrictions are lifted, the role will be based in our office in Brisbane, Sydney, or Melbourne.
