Supporting the Disaster Ready consortium, made up of six International Aid agencies, in the implementation of a range of disaster risk reduction and humanitarian response programs across Vanuatu. Leading collaboration and liaising with a range of diverse stakeholders, no day will be the same in this challenging role.

Where you come in:

In this full-time maximum-term position based in our Port Vila office, you will inspire a team of passionate and talented individuals ensuring activities of the annual Shared Services work plan are implemented on time and to a high quality. You will lead the Shared Services team on behalf of the Disaster Ready consortium in Vanuatu and report to our Program Director.

You will make an impact by:

  • Driving the overall development and implementation of the shared services work plan
  • Leading and coaching the team to deliver high quality technical support to program partners in disability inclusion, gender equality and child protection
  • Ensuring coordinated sharing and learning between consortium partners
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Shared Services team
  • Fostering collaborative working relationships across the consortium
  • Demonstrating high levels of transparency and accountability to the consortia partners

…Your highly developed communication style and natural interpersonal skills give you the ability to develop effective strategic partnerships with partner organisations. You enjoy working closely with people and partners and have great respect for all cultures and backgrounds. Your strong project management, partner management and communications skills combined with experience leading successful teams sees you drive the Disaster Ready consortium to achieve ambitious goals.

This role requires:

  • Familiarity with and commitment to inclusive humanitarian and resilience programming and practices
  • Experience living and working in Vanuatu
  • An understanding of Gender and Social inclusion issues in Vanuatu
  • An understanding of the humanitarian and governance systems in Vanuatu
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
