Where you come in:

In this full-time permanent position, based in Malaga, you will work with a small but dedicated team to ensure products are receipted and despatched in a timely fashion. Liaising with our state network of op shops, you'll ensure stock levels remain optimum and be responsible for all associated warehousing operations. You'll be part of our Retail team and report to our State Retail Operations Manager.

You will make an impact by:

  • Managing the warehouse in compliance with Save the Children Australia's policies and vision
  • Setting up and maintaining distribution centre layout to ensure efficient space utilisation
  • Liaising with retail shops, members of the broader retail team, and transport company contacts when necessary
  • Managing, motivating, and mentoring a team of volunteers
  • Identifying and driving improvements to the day-to-day running of the warehouse
  • Ensuring all KPIs are achieved and monitored as required
  • Ensuring cost effective practices to meet service demands of the shops and retail team

Does this sound like you?

You are an effective team manager with demonstrated experience in the day-to-day running of a busy warehouse. You have high expectations for yourself and your team. You deliver work of a high standard and consistently monitor the quality of output to identify ways to improve and develop operations and staff.

This role requires:

  • A proven ability and demonstrated versatility in all aspects of warehouse management
  • Strong leadership skills and a demonstrated ability to manage staff
  • Knowledge of transport and distribution processes relevant to a busy distribution centre
  • High levels of interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • An ability to prioritise your own work and a commitment to ensuring performance indicators and met and exceeded where possible
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
