Save The Children

You're a passionate Agile practitioner excited about taking Save the Children, who is relatively new to agile, on the agile project management journey. You have demonstratable operational planning skills. Strategic, but still amply able to roll your sleeves up and lead a project through all stages. You thrive on developing collaborative relationships and are equally comfortable supporting a project team as you are working with senior executives. You're a leader with experience coaching partially allocated team members who have little agile experience.

Save the Children is no ordinary not-for-profit.

We're ambitious, creative and outspoken. We stand up for children's rights. We want all children to be educated, healthy and live a life free from violence. We run programs in Australia and overseas and, if there's a disaster - like an earthquake, drought or conflict - we are there on the ground.

It incorporates a variety of small and large-scale projects delivering everything from system implementations and process improvement through to business model diversification and mergers and acquisitions. You'll be part of our Strategy and Transformation team and report to our Director of Strategy and Transformation.

You will make an impact by:

  • Leading the successful delivery of key initiatives (mostly IT solutions)
  • For smaller initiatives, performing a Business Analyst role in addition to project management
  • Identifying issues, risks, and benefits of existing and proposed solutions and outline business impacts
  • Working with a diverse range of stakeholders to deliver improvements aligned to their departmental goals and KPIs
  • Supporting solution implementation including user acceptance testing and development of user documentation

Does this sound like you?

You have a proven track record in delivering critical and complex projects with the ability to bring creative solutions and process improvements to the table. You're an adaptable, highly organised all-rounder, with a high level of attention to detail and a collaborative and can-do manner. You're agile and willing to shift focus when priorities change and are equally comfortable working in a team environment or independently on prioritised tasks.

This role requires:

  • Proven experience working as a Project Manager and Business Analyst
  • Demonstrated agile project management skills
  • Proven experience driving process improvement initiatives
  • Strong collaboration and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, analytical, and documentation skills
