We need you - a passionate Agile practitioner excited about taking Save the Children, who is relatively new to Agile, on the Agile project management journey. We need you to roll up your sleeves and use your demonstratable operational planning skills and strategic mind to lead a project through all stages. Use your project leadership experience to lead team members who have little Agile experience, to ensure we can continue to do the work we do to help children in Australia and abroad.

Where you come in:

In this full-time permanent position, based in Carlton, you'll lead our cross-organisational Agile portfolio operating process, which is key coordination role responsible for driving portfolio planning and strengthening project governance across Save the Children. You'll also directly project manage delivery of key strategic projects with a particular focus on our transformation for 2021. You'll be part of our Strategy and Transformation team and report to our Director of Strategy and Transformation.

You will make an impact by:

  • Managing and coordinating the project portfolio operating process, including assisting project leads in planning and reporting, providing support and reports to the Project Board, and implementing a process of continuous improvement
  • Project leading key projects and develop and implement communications plans
  • Support development of light touch tools and resources to facilitate the organisation at this early stage of Agile adoption
  • Maintaining and sharing a good knowledge of current good practice in Agile delivery
  • Developing and maintaining strong and effective relationships to enhance collaboration and improve the overall effectiveness of Save the Children Australia's project planning and work

You're able to work under pressure, to tight deadlines, and prioritise a full workload. You enjoy working in a team, thrive on developing collaborative relationships, and are equally comfortable supporting a project team as you are working with senior executives.

This role requires:

  • Demonstrated application of Agile project management disciplines
  • Strong project management, planning, problem‑solving, multi‑tasking, and priority determination skills
  • Experience delivering with Agile methodologies in environments with shared resources and services (not dedicated Agile teams)
  • Proven experience in change management and high levels of personal resilience
  • Demonstrated strategic and operational planning skills
  • Highly developed verbal, written, and visual communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • High levels of emotional intelligence with a friendly, communicative, accessible and positive approach, including an ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Proven ability to inspire, engage, and coach colleagues irrespective of reporting lines
  • Passionate about learning and growth
