Intensive Case Manager - Domestic and Family Violence - Mount Isa

Where you come in:

In this full-time permanent position, you will drive the Mount Isa & Gulf High Risk Team (HRT) and as a partner facilitate multiagency risk assessment and safety strategies. The HRT comprises of representatives of Government Partners (including Qld Police Service, Community Corrections, Department of Justice and Attorney General, Department of Housing, Department of Child Safety, Youth and Women, Department of Youth Justice, Department of Education and Department of Health), with Save the Children as the lead NGO. As part of the Service System Integration team, you'll report to the Regional Manager, Service System Integration.

You will make an impact by:

  • Increasing agency accountability and delivering coordinated, consistent and timely responses to prevent serious harm or death
  • Increasing the safety of victims and their children assessed as being at high risk
  • Managing the high risk posed by perpetrators and increasing the accountability of perpetrators

Does this sound like you?

… Your excellent communication skills will enable you to foster partnerships and work effectively with our High Risk Team partners and other service providers to ensure that the safety of people (and children) experiencing domestic violence is prioritised at all times. You can confidently communicate your knowledge of DFV to a wide range of audiences, and your experience in case management roles and ability to think on your feet will help you develop mutual solutions to complex situations.

This role requires:

  • Demonstrated case management and outreach experience
  • Experience in conducting safety and risk assessments, family support and intervention services; focusing on child neglect and domestic violence
  • Demonstrated understanding of child protection and the child protection system in Queensland
  • Experience working within Aboriginal communities with high-risk families and complex scenarios
  • Current valid driver's licence
  • Diploma in Community Services or similar is desirable
