Working with our team of highly engaged education and technology specialists you'll take ownership of our significant pipeline of well-developed opportunities and relationships. You'll grow our existing partnerships with many of the world's leading development agencies, including Save the Children Australia, and co-design new opportunities to create impact. You'll also innovate to diversify our revenue base by leveraging our commercialised products and services.

Where you come in:

In this full-time, permanent position, based in your choice of Melbourne, Brisbane or Sydney*, you will enable the scaling of our impact through the development of new business opportunities and management of key relationships for Library For All. You will lead our Business Development team and report to our Chief Executive Officer.

You will make an impact by:

  • Developing and maintaining a business development plan that reflects our organisational strategy and responds to external market trends and developments,
  • Identifying and nurturing key accounts (relationships) across the Save the Children movement globally,
  • Identifying and nurturing key accounts (relationships) across the development sector including program partners, institutional donors, corporate partners and wholesale supporter network,
  • Identifying new funding and support opportunities and driving the development of new proposals to secure program funding and support,
  • Developing new sources of diversified revenue from Library for All's index of products and services,
  • Developing, leading and mentoring a new team of sales and business development specialists to support the continuing diversification of our revenue.

You are an experienced senior business development professional who thrives in a highly innovative, agile and high performing environment. You'll have exceptional inter-personal skills, well-developed stakeholder relationship management skills and a flexible communication style. You will demonstrate an ability to set and achieve bold objectives, whilst working autonomously in a fast-growing organisation with strong ambitions. Importantly, you'll share our passion for delivering better educational outcomes for children using technology as an enabler.

This role requires:

  • 5+ years of experience in a senior Business Development role with a demonstrated ability to identify and win a diverse portfolio of new business opportunities,
  • Experience in a high growth enterprise with a measurable contribution to its success,
  • Experience in managing cross-cultural teams and partnerships,
  • The ability to innovate, negotiate, collaborate, problem solve and manage change,
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, including report writing.

Position Description - Head of Business Development

* While COVID-19 social distancing restrictions are in place, this role works remotely (i.e. from home or an alternative location). Once the pandemic restrictions are lifted, the role will be based in our offices in either Melbourne, Brisbane or Sydney.
