Where you come in:

In this full-time, permanent role based in our Carlton office, you will contribute to the overall strategic direction and delivery of the organisation. Working closely with the Board and key external stakeholders such as Government agencies and reporting to the Group CEO, you will across other global locations

You will make an impact by:

  • Leading our International Programs team to deliver high quality and impactful development and humanitarian programs.
  • Providing overall program oversight, including ensuring the production and submission of all deliverables in a timely, compliant and cost-effective manner.
  • Driving program quality improvement in line with Save the Children's commitments to evidence and impact and our standards for development programs, emergency response and disaster mitigation.
  • Providing support and working collaboratively with our policy, government affairs and public affairs teams.
  • Supporting our portfolio of social enterprises to deliver impact for children in new and innovative ways.
  • Grow and maintain relationships with key institutional donors like DFAT, the Green Climate Fund and the Global Partnership for Education to achieve funding and program objectives.
  • Overseeing our humanitarian responses, as and when required.

With a deep understanding of international development and humanitarian issues, your impact in this role will create a sustainable difference to the lives of children engaged in humanitarian relief. An outspoken advocate for children's rights, you effectively liaise and negotiate with key stakeholders on development and humanitarian issues, acting as an ambassador at the highest levels including national and international media arenas.

This role requires:

  • Exceptional stakeholder relationship management capability, including experience with government agencies and multi-lateral agencies and mechanisms.
  • Ability to analyse strategic trends and to design a meaningful and informed plan.
  • Ability to act as a non-partisan ambassador at the highest levels, including government and media, locally and internationally.
  • Experience working internationally with demonstrated awareness of country political, socio-economic, and cultural contexts.
  • Proven experience overseeing large Government grants, major private donors or complex multi-sectorial operations.
  • Proven ability to execute in complex and challenging environments.
