Finance Business Partner, Shared Services and Social Ventures

Save The Children

In this changing and competitive world, we need you to be proactive and take action to look after the financial health of our Shared Services and Social Ventures. A dual role which combines your strong financial analysis expertise and strategic insight with your ability to engage and influence stakeholders. Shared Services include Finance, Risk, Strategy, IT, and HR with the focus being on effective cost management and stream-lined processes. Social Ventures are typically 'start-up' in nature and require agile thinking and excellent commercial support for strong business growth.

Save the Children is no ordinary not-for-profit.

We're ambitious, creative and outspoken. We stand up for children's rights. We want all children to be educated, healthy and live a life free from violence. We run programs in Australia and overseas and, if there's a disaster - like an earthquake, drought or conflict - we are there on the ground.

Where you come in:

In this part-time permanent position (4 days per week), based in Carlton*, you will provide strategic insight to our Shared Services and Social Ventures, along with driving our management and financial accounting reports and analysis. You will be part of our Commercial Finance team and report to our Commercial Finance Manager.

  • Providing financial and strategic input to program/contract tenders
  • Implementing and enhancing processes and systems
  • Overseeing the effective adoption of new forecasting and reporting tools
  • Managing and supporting a team of two accountants

Does this sound like you?

Your strong financial skills and commercial acumen are a given, but your ability to influence, engage and challenge stakeholders is second to none. You possess the ability to make complex financial concepts clear to people without a financial background, and your ability to see the strategic implications of different scenarios will mean that the team seeks you out for your insights and commercial advice. You are highly organised, thrive under pressure, and are pragmatic and solutions focused, while keeping a keen eye on the latest trends in reporting and use of data and systems.

This role requires:

  • Significant experience in financial management and analysis
  • Demonstrated success in developing new processes, applying the latest trends in reporting and use of data and systems
