We need you to join our supported playgroup program, Play2Learn, which is the largest of our Early Childhood Care and Development programs in Australia and has been running for more than 30 years. Where you come in:

In this part-time, fixed term position (12 months, for 28 hours/4 days per week), you'll collaborate with a diverse team to deliver the Play2Learn program to promote positive approaches to parenting and family wellbeing. Based in our central Adelaide office, you'll report to our Team Leader for Early Childhood and Parenting.

You will make an impact by:

  • Providing community-based group support to families from a child centred approach
  • Building strong, lasting connections with people from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds
  • Supporting families to access the assistance they need, when they need it
  • Actively encouraging vulnerable or service-averse families to engage with our programs
  • Collecting and recording data and information for accountability, evaluation and reporting

Does this sound like you?

… You're truly passionate about standing up for children. You are experienced in early-intervention, community-based family support and casework. The ability to think on your feet will see you find solutions to complex situations, and your cultural knowledge will help you build strong connections with people from a variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. You have empathy, a 'can-do attitude' are flexible and most importantly, an infectious enthusiasm for your job.

This role requires:

  • Tertiary qualification in Counselling, Social Work or similar field (Diploma level minimum)
  • Proven understanding and experience in community-based and outreach family casework
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary, mobile team
  • Well-developed time management, data collection and reporting skills
  • Driver's licence (and a car available for work use)
  • Current DHS Working with Children clearance, Child Safe Environments and Responding to Abuse and Neglect certificates, and First Aid
