You will work as part of a small and dedicated team, providing support for children and families who are facing challenges to their development and wellbeing.This is your chance to help children reach their potential.

Where you come in:

In this part-time, fixed term position (3 days per week through to end of June 2023), you'll run playgroups in the community and collaborate with our Gawler Children and Parenting Support team to deliver our mobile Play2Learn playgroups, promoting positive approaches to parenting and family wellbeing. You'll engage with the local community and develop confidence in the support network we are proud to deliver. Based in Gawler, you'll also work in locations around Gawler where families can access playgroups. You will be part of a small supportive team, and report to our Team Leader.

You will make an impact by:

  • Providing community-based group and casework support with families
  • Building connections with people from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds
  • Supporting families to access the assistance they need, when they need it
  • Actively encouraging families to engage with our programs and other services
  • Working collaboratively with program partners
  • Collecting and entering client data and case notes

Does this sound like you?

You are truly passionate about standing up for children. You have experience in family support and early intervention and are looking to develop your skills. You enjoy being out in the community and thrive on meeting new people and building relationships. You have strong cultural knowledge which helps you to engage with families and promote family wellbeing.

This role requires:

  • Experience in community-based and outreach family casework
  • Tertiary qualification in a related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Highly developed relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • Well developed data collection and case noting skills
  • Qualified facilitator in Bringing Up Great Kids, Circle of Security, or other accredited parenting program, highly desirable
  • DHS Child Related Employment Clearance, essential
