We are seeking a Centre Coordinator to join our expanding regional team in a part time, 3 month contract role (with a view to extend), located in Shepparton.

About the role:

You will be joining a team of knowledgeable, passionate & supportive Coordinators, and will be responsible to start up and develop a new Stroke Support Centre. The Stroke Support Centre will be located in Shepparton and will support stroke survivors and carers in the Hume region. Initially, you will locate a facility and be responsible for setting up & officially opening the Stroke Support Centre. Once officially opened, you will be the main point of contact for the Centre and will manage the day to day operations including the monthly activity schedule, and the intake & assessment of new members. You will develop and maintain strong local referral networks with local public hospitals and their stroke units, clinical rehabilitation service providers in public & private practice, allied health professionals & providers, community groups, local service providers, local Government funded service providers such as NDIS and MyAged Care, and local Council.

You are a highly motivated team player who thrives on working with and helping people. You offer a strategic approach and are organised & structured in your working. Your interpersonal skills are of the highest quality, with the demonstrated ability to work with people of all ages & backgrounds. Ideally, you are someone with established links within health, community and disability services, and aren't afraid to develop new relationships with local services. Because of the geographic spread of our team across regional Victoria, you are a highly motivated person, with the ability to work autonomously, as well as contribute to the team predominantly via video conferencing software such as Zoom and Google Meet.

Your qualifications & experience:

  • 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role or in the Community Services/Not-for-Profit sector.
  • Certificate IV in Community Services or Diploma of Community Services is an advantage, but not essential.
  • Experience working with people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.
  • Volunteer program management experience.
  • Experience in building collaborative relationships with community groups and services.
  • General administration and reporting experience.
  • Maintain a valid right to work in Australia.
  • COVID-19 vaccination, aligned with Victorian Government mandates for Disability Workers.
  • Satisfactory completion of a National Police Check.
