SASMOA is the South Australian Salaried Medical Officers Association. We are the salaried doctors’ union in South Australia and represent the range of salaried doctors who work on the frontline across our hospitals and health services. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

SASMOA is reshaping our activities and is looking to employ an experienced full-time organiser who will focus on member recruitment, member organisation (and building our membership organising capability) and campaigning. This new position will work closely with our industrial and communications staff and fill an identified gap to further accelerate our member growth. This is a hands-on role which will often see you in health workplaces and communicating with busy doctors. ABOUT YOU

An astute communicator, with the ability to build rapport with members quickly, you will have the capability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of our team. We are seeking a person who likes to work with people, is well organised, and committed to improving conditions for our members and those in their care. You should have relevant experience, preferably working in a union, workplace relations or community development/organising environment. Knowledge of health and industrial relations systems will be well regarded, as will a demonstrated ability to learn quickly. We will provide training and ongoing support.

SALARY AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary is negotiable and subject to experience, in the range of $80,830 to $89,897 (plus superannuation).
