Your new role

Our Supportive Housing Team ensures people experiencing primary homelessness are housed and on a pathway out of homelessness through up to 12 months of support. Working full-time, you will advocate on behalf of clients and assist them to engage or re-engage with an appropriate range of holistic service providers and community inclusion opportunities.

Your day-to-day

A typical day can involve assertive engagement and outreach to establish a robust professional relationship with clients. You will work in partnership with other SHM client service programs as well as the broader support and housing systems. This vital role assists people to access housing or accommodation and settle into their new home and community. The position is based within Sacred Heart Central Support Services.

We're looking for someone

  • Able to effectively manage challenging behaviours and respond to crisis situations
  • Knowledgeable in a variety of theoretical frameworks and strategies applicable for working with clients with complex needs, including recovery principles.
  • Experienced in casework and sustaining tenancies practices
  • Able to manage time, resolve routine problems and meet deadlines with minimal supervision and direction
