RSPCA WA has an exciting opportunity for a confident, professional and personable individual to join our team and nurture relationships with Gift in Will (GIW) supporters and Home Ever After (HEA - Pet Bequests) supporters.

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, you will communicate with GIW supporters to confirm and maintain their commitment and increase the number of confirmed Gifts in Wills. You will also actively manage relationships with supporters who have already included a gift in their will. This role is a part-time role for 30.4 hours per week.

The Gifts in Wills Coordinator will inspire and encourage more people to include charitable bequest gifts for RSPCA WA in their Wills. This will ultimately lead to increased levels of funding for our programs and services.

The person we are looking for will display a mature, ethical, professional manner that exhibits sensitivity, tact and discretion along with a commitment to a high standard of performance.

Key responsibilities

  • Inspiring new and existing supporters to include a gift to RSPCA WA in their Wills.
  • Maintain accurate supporter information records and develop other relevant activities to increase GIW supporter numbers and ultimately income from gifts in Wills.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to requests for information about GIW from existing supporters and members of the public.
  • Accurately assess, qualify and classify the level of interest and commitment from supporters to including a GIW, including all leads generated by direct response activities.
  • Maintain and nurture positive relationships with supporters within the GIW and HEA Programs.
  • Ensure appropriate prompt, personalised acknowledgement of donations and other contributions from GIW supporters.
  • Provide support in the development, production and delivery of direct mail and other communication activities.
  • Identify internal and external opportunities to promote the work of RSPCA WA and the GIW and HEA programs.

Selection Criteria

Essential

  • Previous experience (2 – 3 years) in a donor development or bequest role within a not-for-profit charitable organisation.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills (verbal, written, phone and in person) and demonstrated ability to build relationships with various individuals and organisations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work systematically and effectively, managing multiple tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a flexible and positive attitude.
  • Excellent organisational and administration skills, with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Superior attention to detail, especially with respect to written communications and data entry.
  • Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to use initiative and solve problems logically.
  • High level of maturity, incorporating resilience, compassion and empathy.
  • A good level of comfort in interacting with animals.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills and sound research and analytical skills.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of CRMs such as Salesforce.
  • Background knowledge of the legal aspects relating to wills and bequests.

A good understanding of animal welfare issues in WA.
