The RSB is currently seeking an Employment Consultant to join our Employment team across our five sites. In this role you will primarily be managing a caseload of clients with a disability, to identify and address their barriers to employment.

The role involves securing sustainable employment for clients and assisting them to become job ready by participating in relevant education and skills development programs. You need to be proactive in working with a range of providers, health professionals and other services staff to support RSB clients in securing employment and then in sustaining their employment long term. You will also be assisting NDIS participants, including those with School Leaver Employment Supports in their plans.

Another important component of the role is to actively identify opportunities in the local labor market by calling on potential employers and presenting RSB clients as employees which will meet their organisation’s needs.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Experience in Disability Employment Services or similar
  • Proven past performance, preferably in disability job placement
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Sound computer literacy and effective time management skills
  • A positive focus with a strong drive to meet performance targets
  • Ability to market RSB clients to employers confidently and with discretion
  • The ability to get along well with others and to relate to people with various disabilities, and from all types of backgrounds and cultures
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • A satisfactory National Police, NDIS and DHS Clearances as well as a current driver’s license, are required.
