Do you want to play an active role in supporting people with disabilities live their best lives? Do you want to support older people to remain living independently at home? We are seeking passionate casual support workers for our disability and aged care programs in Sydney’s Inner West.

You are ethical, self-motivated and committed to making a difference for people with disability and older people. You are focused on empowering clients with choice and control. You have exceptional customer service, problem solving skills and advocacy skills.

Rozelle Neighbourhood Centre has over 35 years’ experience in working with our stakeholders to create opportunities for people to be themselves in the community. We operate a range of support services for people with disabilities on a 1:1 basis as well as for group activities. Our aged care programs include domestic support (light household tasks, dusting, vacuuming, etc), in-home respite and support to access social activities.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • Minimum qualifications – Cert III in Disability, Aged Care, Home and Community Care, or similar
  • Formal qualifications are not required for domestic assistance positions
  • Willingness to work 1-1 with disability or aged clients, as well as in a group setting
  • Willingness to learn Supportability (rostering and client management system)
  • Previous experience in a similar role an advantage
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of WH&S principles
  • A current Australian form of photo ID or International passport
  • A National Police Criminal Record check from within the last 12 months
  • A current Working with Children check
  • A current First Aid and/or CPR certificate

Pay rates are as per the SCHADS Award, including casual and shift loadings.
