Do you want to play an active role in supporting people with disabilities to live their best lives? Do you want to support a male client to live independently in his own home? We are seeking a passionate full-time Advanced Disability Services Officer (Support work) for our client who lives in the inner west of Sydney.

You are ethical, self-motivated and committed to making a difference for people with disability. You are focused on empowering clients with choice and control. You have exceptional customer service, problem-solving skills and advocacy skills.

Rozelle Neighbourhood Centre has over 40 years’ experience in working with our stakeholders to create opportunities for people to be themselves in the community. We operate a range of support services for people with disabilities on an individual basis as well as for group activities.

  • Degree in behaviour support or relevant social sciences subject
  • Willingness to work intensively on a 1-1 basis with a client with a disability
  • Experience of implementing behaviour support strategies
  • Previous experience of working with people with autism and an intellectual disability
  • Understanding of self-injurious behaviours including managing complex personal care needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of WH&S principles
  • A full drivers license
  • A National Police Criminal Record check from within the last 12 months
  • A current Working with Children check
  • A current First Aid and/or CPR certificate
