About the role

An exciting opportunity exists for a person with experience in adult training and support, along with a passion to work in the disability sector. Ability to coordinate internal and external resources to meet the training needs of disability support workers. Applicants should have significant experience in understanding the care activities that are required to safely and successfully manage people with significant disabilities and high care needs such as NDIS High Intensity Supports.

The successful applicant will join our disability services team to provide assessment and education to our disability support workers in both the classroom and within the supported accommodation settings. The role will work within the Royal Rehab Disability Services team of Accommodation Managers, Operational Managers and General Manager to achieve best outcomes for customers and staff.  

Your main Duties will include:

  • Teaching of Disability Support Workers to enable them to provide exceptional care and supports.
  • Coordinate or develop educational resources in specialty areas of high care needs.
  • Ensure staff adhere to both the Royal Rehab values and NDIS standards when providing care.

We seek a self-motivated and friendly individual with:

  • Relevant qualifications and experience working in the disability or healthcare sector e.g. Registered Nurse, Allied Health Professional, Cert IV in Disability.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating education and training e.g. TAE 40116 Certificate IV in Training and Education or tertiary qualifications in Adult Education & Training.
  • Knowledge, understanding and commitment to the NDIS Practice Standards.
  • Expertise in delivering and training NDIS High Intensity Support activities.
  • Effective communication skills and use of training resources.
  • Working knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Suite at an intermediate level.
  • Current C NSW driver’s licence.
  • Ability to travel to all Royal Rehab supported accommodation sites
  • Current Working with Children Check and Police Check (or willing to obtain)
