About the Role

This is an exciting fundraising role which will give a passionate fundraiser the opportunity to work across appeals, donor communications, donor relationship development and bequests to raise funds for the Garden’s important plant science, horticulture and learning programs. The incumbent will contribute to the delivery of the Gardens' fundraising plan with a focus on individual donors giving less than $5,000 and bequestors. The role builds strong engagement with individual donors and bequestors through implementation of donor cultivation, stewardship activities and persuasive communication about the social impact of RBGV's programs, gardens and collections. The role works with the broader Development Marketing and Communications team to meet agreed financial and engagement targets.

About You


The successful candidate will have tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, or commensurate professional experience in NFP fundraising. Furthermore, you have demonstrated experience in coordinating private giving and bequests programs and sound knowledge of fundraising principles and practices, with a desire to work collaboratively to achieve objectives. You will have excellent relationship building skills, liaising confidently with both internal and external stakeholders, implementing activities and communications about the social impact of RBGV’s programs, plants and collections. You are well versed in making decisions and problem solving, and adopt an open, collaborative approach to your work, ensuring desired outcomes are achieved.
