Road to Refuge

Road to Refuge seeks applicants with strong accounting or financial backgrounds to join its Committee of Management as Treasurer and provide financial management and oversight of reporting obligations. The role will require between one and four hours per week, including monthly Committee meetings.

The Treasurer’s tasks include:

  • Generating annual financial statements
  • Creating and maintaining annual budgets for the organisation as a whole, and each individual program
  • Quarterly re-forecast program budgets with program managers
  • Generating monthly reports of programs’ progress and organisation’s financial results
  • Assisting in tenders, grant applications and funding proposals, including providing financial advice and accurate cost models
  • Reviewing grant programs, including preparation of invoices, reports and acquittals as required by funding organisations

As a member of the Committee, the Treasurer is also required to input into governance and strategy committee discussions and decisions which will ultimately affect the success and direction of the organisation.
