About the Role

The Program Implementation Officer will be primarily responsible for providing comprehensive project support to Senior Management to ensure the smooth implementation and operation of all road safety programs in accordance with the organisation's strategic plan.

The Program Implementation Officer will assist in the monitoring of key project milestones and managing the process from start-up to implementation, the role will identify the human resources and financial requirements needed in the short to medium term to facilitate the start-up, development and on-going refinement of the programs. This will include working to ensure key outcomes are achieved at all stages of the program implementation and will include leveraging partnerships that are critical in supporting effective program delivery.

The Program Implementation Officer is an integral part of the organisation and will be critical in getting all elements of our programs on a solid footing from the outset.

The primary purpose of the Program Implementation Officer is to:

  • Assist in the development, design, and implementation of road safety programs.
  • Design a range of communication materials to support program engagement.
  • Review employee qualification to ensure effective program allocation.
  • Provide assistance to Senior Managers to ensure relevant program policies, procedures and guidelines are formulated, communicated, and implemented.

You will be an engaging communicator with a strong ability to develop and maintain strong relationships as this position will be required to engage with key internal and external stakeholders on the development of services, coordination of activities, and ensuring sufficient contract requirements are maintained, while supporting the implementation of innovative practices.

The Program Implementation Officer role will require ongoing training and professional development as it’s a crucial component to the candidate’s success.

To be successful in this role you must have experience in project management, design, customer relations and be able to demonstrate the following skills:

Essential Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Business, Events Management, or another related discipline or at least 5 years relevant experience.

Essential Experience

  • A sound knowledge of contemporary business and project management practices.
  • Proven ability to achieve outcomes within agreed timeframes and budgets and under time pressures.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the project management life cycle and an ability to track and report against milestones.
  • Proven track record in stakeholder management, including an ability to build relationships and strategic partnerships.
  • Capability in financial/budget management and KPI reporting.
  • Experience in contract management and interpretation, ensuring that deliverables are being met by contracted parties.
  • Broad understanding of the processes and systems required to develop and support newly established programs.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-developed analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Advanced computer skills required for MS Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working in not-for-profit organisations.
  • Experience working in a politically sensitive environment or complex organisation.

Personal Characteristics

  • Demonstrates creativity and documented immersion in photography and design.
  • Proficient in content marketing theory and application.
  • Experience sourcing and managing content development and publishing.
  • Exhibits the ability to jump from the creative side of marketing to analytical side.
