About the Business

About the Roles

RMHC Vic & Tas is currently recruiting for casual After Hours Family Liaison Officer to join our Melbourne-based House at North Fitzroy. After Hours Family Liaison Officers provide overnight, weekend and public holiday supervision of Ronald McDonald Houses.

The shift

The successful candidate will be provided with the opportunity to work shifts at our North Fitzroy House, however shifts at our Parkville and Monash houses may become available and offered. It is a pre-requisite for the role that candidates are available to work outside normal office hours including overnight and weekend shifts and occasional business hours shifts to cover for staff on annual leave. Therefore a driver's license and car are desirable.

Our After Hours Family Liaison Officers work shifts that are a little different from your standard 9-5 roles. For example, a standard shift could look like;

  • 17:30pm-10:30am – Sleepover at the house – 7:00am-10:00am.

Please note the ‘sleep at the house’ portion does not contribute to the paid hours, however an allowance is provided for that period.

Key Tasks

  • Providing support to families staying at the Houses
  • Completing any administration & departure procedures & processes required such as family induction paperwork, processing of family donations/fees and any other administration duties as required
  • Ensure RMHC policies and practices are implemented and adhered to
  • Available, on-call overnight, when on-site to support families and emergencies on site
  • Ensure any problems or emergencies are documented and reported to the House Manager

Qualifications & Training

  • Current driver’s license
  • Current state-based Working with Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain one
  • Willingness to undergo a Police Check with a satisfactory report.
  • Level 2 First Aid (or willingness to complete)
  • Certificate or diploma in management, community service or related discipline (preferred but not essential)

Experience

  • Previous experience in customer service/hospitality, facilities management, housekeeping/cleaning or similar position
  • Experience in the not for profit sector (desirable)

The safety of the children and families we help is paramount. Our recruitment and selection process Includes working with children checks to ensure applicants suitability to work with children and families. In addition, an offer will only be made to those who pass a satisfactory Police Check.
