Right Now Inc

About Right Now

Right Now is an independent not-for-profit media organisation focused on human rights issues in Australia. Our work begins with the belief that creating a positive, rights-respecting culture in Australia begins with the flow of information. Our vision is an Australia where people have informed and inspired discussions about human rights, equality and justice.

The General Manager, in conjunction with the Editor-in-Chief, the Culture and Community Manager, and the Board, will help sustain Right Now’s vision and continue to ensure the long-term sustainability of Australian’s only online independent journal dedicated to human rights.

Being a fully volunteer-run organisation, Right Now is a place where passionate people congregate to tell stories well, support independent media and one another, while also defending human rights. We pride ourselves in having a fun, social community of volunteers, networking opportunities in the NGO and human rights sectors, and supporting staff with their career goals.

Now in its fourteenth year, Right Now has published a vast range of established and emerging writers, poets, human rights activists, lawyers, academics and artists, with a particular commitment to elevating diverse voices and perspectives. Right Now seeks to consistently emphasise the importance of human rights, both by highlighting stories that are relevant to readers’ daily lives and uncovering the ways in which human rights are being compromised and celebrated in Australia and around the world.
