Right Now is an independent media outlet committed to publishing in-depth analysis, opinion and creative storytelling centred around human rights.

Right Now elevates diverse voices and perspectives, both established and emerging, to uncover the ways in which human rights are being compromised and celebrated in Australia and around the world. 


The Development Manager, in conjunction with the Editor-in-Chief, the General Manager and the Board, will help sustain our vision and continue to ensure the long-term sustainability of Australian’s only online journal dedicated to human rights.

We are looking for someone with experience in organisational fundraising and grant applications. The desired candidate has growth thinking, with strong people skills and a passion for human rights.

Tasks include:

• Identifying funding and grant opportunities and coordinating grant applications with the editorial team and Board.
• Identifying partnership opportunities and working with the Board on approach and development.
• Collaborating with the General Manager and the board to implement fundraising strategies.

• Collaborating with the General Manager on their tasks.
• Working alongside the Editor-in-Chief, General Manager and the Board to plan events that are engaging to the public and existing Right Now audience.
• In conjunction with the Board, developing and nurturing relationships with colleague organisations.

Time commitment:

• Fortnightly liaison with Editor-in-Chief and General Manager.
• Bi-monthly reports for the General Manager to present to the Board.
• Estimated 5 hours per week.
