Flourish Australia has an exciting career development opportunity for a Cluster Manager to join the Community Businesses!

The position available is closed-term full-time (5 years) working Monday to Friday and is based at our Sydney Olympic Park head office. The vacancy is classified at Level 8 on the Flourish Australia Enterprise Agreement (2018).

About this Opportunity

As the Cluster Manager, Community Businesses, you will coordinate Flourish Australia's support of people with lived experience of mental health issues and support them to find meaningful and valued employment. Reporting to the General Manager, Employment, you will be directly responsible for managing Flourish Australia’s Sydney based Community Business activities. This includes the financial management, commercial contract development, supervision of management staff in the provision of Community Business Activities and the development and provision of recovery-oriented employment services.

As the Cluster Manager, Community Businesses, you will coordinate and monitor Community Business activities by:

  • Overseeing the daily management of the organisation’s Sydney based Community Businesses.
  • Developing and managing operational budgets to meet the financial objectives of the program.
  • Sourcing new business contracts with external customers, including undertaking cost modelling, capability assessments and ongoing contract management with key stakeholders.
  • Ensuring that sufficient resources, training and oversight is provided to Site Managers to maintain the viability and success of Community Businesses activities.
  • Ensuring Community Businesses activity complies with contractual obligations and meets standards relating to existing business accreditations including ISO, Environmental and the relevant Disability and Mental Health standards.

Selection Criteria

Essential:

  1. Diploma or degree in behavioural sciences, employment services or related discipline.
  2. Minimum 5 years experience in a relevant supervisory role.
  3. Demonstrated engagement, collaboration and negotiation skills, with the capability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
  4. Experience working in a sales and marketing environment.
  5. Demonstrated experience delivering financial management and reporting of business activities.
  6. Demonstrated experience administering complex policy and commercial business matters, including commercial tendering and procurement.
  7. Demonstrated experience in leading the implementation of policies and programs and provide initiative, and have the ability to formulate, implement, monitor and evaluate projects and programs.
  8. Demonstrated experience in planning and directing daily production activities and ensuring that operations are efficient, effective and meet the organisation’s requirements.
  9. Current Australian Driver’s Licence.

Desirable:

  1. A personal lived experience of a mental health issue.
  2. Expert knowledge (or ability to obtain) of relevant legislative and funding contract requirements.
  3. Demonstrated understanding of the challenges faced by people with complex mental health issues and how providing a recovery-oriented, trauma informed service is of benefit to people.
  4. A First Aid certificate.
