Node Research Managers - Natural Hazards Research Australia

Rosemary Hardham & Associates
  • Natural Hazards Research Australia
  • Newly established entity
  • Brisbane and Sydney

Interested in contributing as part of this newly established ‘for purpose’ entity, engaging with stakeholders and being the ‘face’ of the Centre for the state?

Natural Hazards Research Australia is being established as a world-leading research centre for natural hazard resilience and disaster risk reduction. It will be one of Australia’s largest repositories of research data, products and applications aimed at mitigating the occurrence and severity of natural hazards and natural disasters. It will build on current research into bushfires and natural hazards including the work of the Bushfire and Natural Hazards Cooperative Research Centre and its predecessor, the Bushfire CRC.

The Centre has no formal head office and will operate through nodes in the states and territories. Each node will have responsibility for bringing together the end-users and researchers in each state or territory. Node Research Managers will work as part of a national team on common issues, overseeing the operations of the node to ensure that the research program meets the needs of end-users, from project initiation through to research implementation. These standalone roles will be the main point of contact with partners across the jurisdiction with responsibility for stakeholder engagement, partnership development, project management, education and training.

We are seeking innovative, self-starters looking to make a difference as part of an organisation that contributes to the resilience and safety of the community. Tertiary qualified, ideally to postgraduate level in a relevant discipline, you bring strong people and relationship management capability, sound analytical, conceptual and project management skills, and knowledge of and familiarity with research organisations such as university research teams, co-operative research centres or government departments and agencies. Sound like you?
