Located in the City of Yarra, our grassroots food centre is an award-winning joint initiative of the Anglican, Catholic and Uniting churches in Richmond.
Each week, with the support of a diverse range of dynamic volunteers, the Food Centre creates a welcoming space and provides food security for hundreds of people including people who are refugees, people experiencing homelessness, people in financial need and people with complex needs.
The hours for this role are between 15 and 25 hours a week, spread across days of operation, with time provision also allocated for occasional administrative tasks out of these hours. It is important that the successful applicant be willing to be flexible with an early start on days of operation and is prepared to answer the occasional out of centre hours questions from agencies, volunteers and clients who may sometimes contact the Food Centre via phone or email.
A key part of this role is the ability to effectively coach and lead volunteers to achieve great outcomes by working together to help others.
