Royal Flying Doctor Service Victoria

The Organisation

Proudly serving Australians since 1928, the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) provides emergency aeromedical and primary health services for people in rural and remote Australia. We believe in creating opportunities so all Victorians have the choice to access essential primary health care services.

Would you like to work for the iconic Royal Flying Doctor Service?

RFDS Victoria are currently seeking experienced Oral Health Therapists (with and without extended scope) to provide essential dental services to communities across rural Victoria.

You will be a part of the new State Government’s Smile Squad Program, a brand new statewide initiative that will transform oral care for every student attending a Victorian public school. Being a part of the Smile Squad Program means you will be working in brand new mobile dental units. Focusing on prevention and education, Smile Squad is set to change the way we practice dentistry and will see every student walk away with the tools and knowledge they need to eat well, drink well and clean well for life.

You will be working with a team of qualified and experienced dentists, oral health therapists and dental assistants whilst being supported by an expert program management team who are all passionate about providing dental care to those who need it most. Accommodation, meals and travel is provided, as well as the opportunity to attend a wide range of CPD events.

The role requires travelling to rural locations across Victoria for an entire working week. We have flexible fixed term part-time and casual opportunities available. Ranging from working with us a few weeks a year to one week per month, or on a rotating roster (e.g. one week on, one week off).

  • The successful candidate will have relevant tertiary qualifications, AHPRA registration, Working with Children Check, a drivers’ license (mandatory) and a minimum of 2 years' experience
  • The successful candidate is passionate about clinical excellence and the provision of high-quality care to children and young adults
  • The successful candidate is an exceptional communicator with the ability to work effectively one-on-one and within small teams

If you share our vision of bringing health care to rural and remote Australians, we would like to hear from you. Please submit your resume and a cover letter (applications received without a cover letter will not be considered).
