The purpose of this position is to support families to raise children in safe and supportive environments, through the delivery of culturally appropriate therapeutic interventions, such as counselling and group programs to children and their families living in the Katherine region (township and remote). The position works alongside the Aboriginal Child and Family Support Workers in a two-ways learning model.

Within this role, you are required to meet and comply with the Behaviour Standards outlined in our Safeguarding Children and Young People Practice and Behaviour Guidelines, and actively participate in cultural safety and “cultural fitness”.

We are seeking the right candidate who has the following qualifications:

  • Qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or other relevant Humanitarian or Social Science qualification, as well as experience working therapeutically (delivering group programs and/or one on one) with children in a professional setting.
  • Drumbeat accreditation.

Applicants will require extensive screening, referee checks, identity check, Ochre Card and Criminal History check.
