The Aboriginal and Islander Engagement Worker works in the context of the Disability Royal Commission Counselling and Support (DRCCS) program. The main client groups of this program are:
The Aboriginal and Islander Engagement Worker will build strong relationships with stakeholders, communities, and clients relevant to the program. They work closely with other DRCCS staff and other Aboriginal staff within the organisation. They work in a trauma-informed way with clients, understanding the impact trauma can have, and how to provide support in a way that makes people feel safe.
In the performance of this role, you are required to comply with the Safeguarding Children and Young People Practice and Behaviour Guidelines and to participate in cultural fitness activities.
