The organisation

Catholic Diocese of Parramatta Services Limited (CDPSL) is a not-for-profit charity of the Catholic Diocese of Parramatta. Its mission is to support families and children within our communities by delivering quality development and learning experiences for children in our care.

CDPSL provides early years education and school-age care services across more than 40 Out of School Hours (OOSH) and early learning centres within the Parramatta, Blacktown, Hawkesbury/Nepean and Blue Mountains regions and is continuing to grow.

Our services are provided with Respect, Encouragement and Care in partnership with the Diocese and its agencies.

Due to the rapid expansion of our Catholic Out of School Hours Care (COSHC) network, which currently employs around 400 staff, an exciting and new permanent full-time opportunity exists for an experienced and driven HR Business Partner to join our HR team.

The role

Reporting to the HR Manager, you will work closely with the Senior Managers Early Years Education & Care enterprise to provide professional, end to end HR support

You will be a trusted advisor and business partner; employee advocate; culture and values champion; and a driver of change.

You will be a collaborator and team player and work proactively to provide excellent HR advice and support on employee relations matters, including disciplinary and performance matters; workplace investigations; award interpretation and workplace policies and procedures.

You will be solutions-focussed and have a working knowledge of HR systems; Work Health and Safety; Worker’s Compensation; and recruitment and selection.

As a true HR Business Partner, you will anticipate people-related business needs and maintain an in-depth understanding of your client group, including key business priorities and strategies and workforce metrics and trends, to support the provision of effective HR advice and support.

You will maintain regular contact with managers and employees and visit their sites regularly.

About you

As the ideal candidate you will meet the following Key Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in HR or related discipline
  • Experience and working knowledge of day-to-day operational areas of HR, including award interpretation; performance management; reward and recognition; workplace investigations; recruitment and selection; staffing metrics; WHS; injury management; and employee wellbeing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and proven ability to build positive relationships with key stakeholders
  • Digital acumen including the ability to extract, analyse and interpret data
  • Willingness to support the mission and values of CDPSL
  • Current NSW Driver’s Licence and ready access to a private, fully insured motor vehicle

Knowledge or experience in OOSH or Children’s Services sector, and in ELMO or Deputy HR information systems would be advantageous.
