Project Officer - Lived Experience Incubator

Full Stop Australia

About Us:

Full Stop Australia is a not-for-profit organisation, operating nationally, but based in Sydney's Inner West. Our mission is to put a full stop to sexual, domestic and family violence and to support those who have been impacted by violence and abuse. We also offer best-practice training and professional services to support safe and respectful workplaces, and advocate for changes to laws, policies, and practices to better prevent and respond to sexual, domestic and family violence.

Our advocacy draws upon the expertise of our trauma-specialist counsellors, who support people impacted by sexual, domestic and family violence across the country. It also draws on the lived expertise of over 700 survivor-advocates in Full Stop Australia’s National Survivor Advocate Program (NSAP).

About the Role:

The development of the Lived Expertise ‘Ideas to Action’ Incubator recognises that it’s impossible to address the epidemic of sexual, domestic and family violence without leveraging the expertise of people directly impacted by it. The Incubator aims to expand opportunities for survivor-advocates to influence policy development and engage in advocacy in the fields of sexual, domestic and family violence, and build community with like-minded survivors.

This dynamic role involves working with internal and external stakeholders to plan events, develop partnerships and support participants in the Lived Expertise ‘Ideas to Action’ Incubator to build community. The Project Officer – Lived Expertise Incubator will also help shape and coordinate the work of Full Stop Australia’s National Survivor Advocate Program, to maintain relationships for the purpose of recruitment to and management of the Incubator Program.

About You:

You will be someone who is supportive of the feminist context and principles of Full Stop Australia. Personal attributes and values will include:

  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships and a passion for working collaboratively.
  • Versatility, creativity and open-mindedness, with the ability to identify new opportunities and think outside the box.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work in a psychologically safe, culturally safe and trauma-informed way.
  • Demonstrated commitment to intersectional feminism and social justice.

In return:

Benefits: We offer benefits including salary packaging, paid parental leave, study leave, and access to our award-winning workplace well-being program designed to manage the effects of vicarious trauma. Professional development and training are highly valued within our organisation.

Salary: This position has been classified as Level 5 under the Social, Community, Home, and Disability Services (SCHADS) Award. The salary for the role is above Award rates, starting at $85,000 (plus superannuation), with the option to salary package.

Working arrangements: This position is being offered on either a Full- or Part-Time basis (minimum 30 hours per week).

This is a fixed-term position, ending 30 June 2026, in connection with Government funding arrangements. However, subject to securing ongoing funding for the Lived Expertise ‘Ideas to Action’ Incubator, the role may be extended beyond this date.

Full Stop Australia is based in Sydney’s Inner West. We offer a hybrid model of working, with the option to work part of your hours from home.
