Relationships Australia WA is a leading provider of relationship support services to the West Australian community with professional and highly motivated staff.

About the role

We are offering a Casual role of Mediator in the Peel Senior Relationship Service Mandurah branch. The position involves mediation with the elderly who are experiencing elder abuse.

The position involves some outreach to clients’ homes and some in the office. 

The current vacancy is casual and on a “as required” basis. 

ESSENTIAL

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

• Accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner registered with the Attorney General’s Department
• An understanding of current theory, practice and issues related to family mediation
• Well developed interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team
• Strong relationships building skills, including the ability to effectively mentor and supervise in clinical areas
• Hold a current driver’s licence

DESIRABLE

• Skill and experience in report writing, including the ability to accurately reflect decisions and agreements reached and provide written documentation appropriate to the standards set by RAWA
• Ability to travel in the Peel region
• Experience working with the elderly
• Flexibility of work hours
