This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced counsellor to join Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV) in this important role with staff who have been delivering effective client focused services and outcomes for over 70 years in Victoria.

Our services and programs, which are provided from 16 centres across Victoria, include counselling, family dispute resolution, relationship education, family violence services, mental health services, senior relationship services and professional training. About the role

Reporting to the Centre Manager Shepparton, and working closely with the Shepparton team, your responsibilities will include the provision of high quality, culturally sensitive relationship counselling and therapy, including education programs to individuals, couples and families. Counsellors will have expertise in childhood development and family dynamics and be able to respond to a diverse range of issues: including trauma, violence and abuse, parenting concerns, stress and anxiety, separation and divorce and blended families.

This role is based at our Shepparton centre and is part-time, negotiable two (2) or four (4) days per week, on a permanent contract. For this role, the successful candidate may be required to work Tuesday evenings on a regular basis.

Skills, experience and qualifications

  • Qualifications in psychology, social work, family therapy, counselling or related discipline.
  • Previous experience using therapeutic modalities, interventions and assessment tools relevant to working with individuals, couples and families; including where family violence is present.
  • Previous experience working with a diverse range of clients, CALD, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
  • Full registration with AHPRA or eligibility for AASW (preferable).

A competitive sector remuneration package is on offer to the successful candidate with a base salary range of $82k-$83k (pro-rata) per annum, superannuation and access to PBI tax-free salary packaging.
