This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Counsellor/Case Manager to work within a small specialist team at our Sunshine centre and join Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV) who have been delivering effective client focused services and outcomes for over 70 years in Victoria.

About the role

Reporting to the Program Manager Therapeutic Services, the Counsellor/Case Manager provides a combination of counselling, advocacy and therapeutic case management to clients living with the impacts of complex trauma. The responsibilities for this role include providing trauma-informed counselling, as well as practical support to people engaging with the National Redress Scheme, and to people affected by forced adoption.

This is a part time, ongoing position working four (4) days per week based at our Sunshine Family Relationship Centre.

Skills, experience and qualifications

  • A tertiary qualification in psychology, social work and or social science.
  • Significant demonstrated previous experience of counselling and or mental health, trauma recovery, therapeutic case management and advocacy.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively intervene, prioritise and manage crisis situations.
  • Knowledge of the effects of childhood trauma on adult functioning, and trauma-informed care approaches.
  • Must have own vehicle and current Victorian driver’s licence.

You will receive a competitive sector remuneration package with a base salary range of pro-rata $86,822 to $89,271 (pro-rata) per annum, superannuation and access to PBI tax-free salary packaging.
