This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, experienced family violence specialist to join Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV) in this important role with a staff who have been delivering effective client focused services and outcomes for over 70 years in Victoria.

About the role

Reporting to the Senior Manager Southern and Eastern Melbourne, this role is a multi-faceted role with primary responsibility for providing effective and efficient operational oversight of RAV’s family violence services and programs, in alignment with RAV guidelines, strategic directions and contractual obligations. The role will coordinate and provide operational support for staff in the delivery of men’s family violence services. This position also contributes to the strategic implementation of the family services program in line with the current state government reforms into family violence.

The role is based in Boronia and will coordinate FV services across our two (2) centres in eastern metro located in Boronia and Kew. This position is a part-time role, four (4) days per week, on an ongoing basis. There is an expectation that the successful candidate will work an evening shift on a regular basis.

Skills, experience and qualifications

  • A qualification or relevant experience, in line with the mandatory minimum qualification requirements for specialist family violence practitioners under the Victorian Government Mandatory Minimum Qualification Policy.
  • Advanced understanding of relevant legislation and practice frameworks relating to family violence practice, including but not limited to the Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme (FVISS), Child Information Sharing Scheme (CISS) and the Family Violence Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework (MARAM). A strong awareness of the life cycle stages in a family violence context, including social, historical, political, legal, cultural and organisational/systems impacts on victim survivors and perpetrators of family violence.
  • An understanding of the gendered nature of family violence.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating a program and leading a team of practitioners.
  • Significant experience working in the family violence sector with a demonstrated ability to work and oversee complex work with clients where family violence is an identified risk.
  • A current Employee Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) and a satisfactory National Police Check, and International Police Check (if applicable) and a current Victorian driver’s licence is required.

A competitive salary package is on offer to the successful candidate with a base salary range pro-rata of $101k to $109k per annum, superannuation, and access to salary packaging.
