This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Community Liaison Officer to join Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV) in this important role with staff who have been delivering effective client focused services and outcomes for over 70 years in Victoria.

Our objective is to relieve suffering, distress and helplessness and to provide high quality, accessible and effective services for people with complex relationship issues. Our services and programs, which are provided from 16 centres across Victoria, include counselling, family dispute resolution, relationship education, family violence services, mental health services, senior relationship services and professional training. As a community-based, not-for-profit organisation with no religious affiliations, our services are for all members of the community, regardless of religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, lifestyle choice, cultural background or economic circumstances.

About the role

Reporting to the Centre Manager, your responsibilities include maintaining relationships with a range of community groups, agencies and service providers, delivering information sessions, attending relevant community events, undertaking stakeholder consultations and promoting referrals and pathways into services.

The Community Liaison Officer (CLO) assists the access strategy by supporting engagement with vulnerable and disadvantaged groups, helping identify community needs and assisting in the design and development of flexible service delivery to meet those needs regardless of cultural background, religion, sexual orientation and gender.

This is a part-time position, three days per week for a 12-month period covering parental leave. There is an expectation that you will work Tuesday evenings until 9pm on a weekly basis, as well as occasional out of hours work.

Skills, experience and qualifications

  • Qualifications in Social Work, Community Development or other related disciplines or equivalent relevant vocational experience, qualification, or training appropriate to the role, including experience in community engagement, project management, working with culturally and linguistically diverse and Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander clients and communities
  • Demonstrated public speaking skills
  • Media and event management skills
  • Current driver’s license
  • Demonstrated understand and knowledge of the Family Law Sector, Family and Domestic Violence and child development would be considered advantageous

You will receive a competitive remuneration package, with a salary range of $85k -$89k (pro-rata) per annum, superannuation and access to PBI tax-free salary packaging.
