About headspace and RAV:

headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds, along with assistance in promoting young peoples’ wellbeing. This covers core areas including mental health, physical health, work and study support and alcohol and other drug services.

Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV) is the lead agency for headspace Bairnsdale and Wonthaggi, including the newly funded headspace Sale Satellite service, which is governed by a consortium of local community organisations who provide expertise, support and advice to RAV. About the role

Reporting to the Centre Manager, headspace Bairnsdale, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, including general practitioners, allied health clinicians, community engagement workers and support staff. The position also works closely with local community and partner youth and health services to provide holistic and integrated care.

Your responsibilities include providing day to day site coordination for the headspace Sale team and supporting the headspace Bairnsdale Leadership Team. The Clinical Coordinator will effectively engage with, coordinate care, and provide clinical interventions for young people aged 12-25 years who request service from headspace Sale.

In response to COVID-19, service provision maybe initially be completed via. video appointments and teleconferencing.

This position will be based in Sale, Gippsland on a fixed-term contract until June 2021. The successful candidate will be working part-time (3 days per week). The opening hours for headspace Sale will be Tuesday 12noon to 8pm. Wednesday and Thursday 10am to 6pm.

Qualifications and Registrations:

  • Degree level qualifications in allied health, behavioural/social sciences, youth work, mental health nursing, or a related discipline.
  • It would be preferred if you had current full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) or current full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).

Experience:

  • Experience in providing ‘day to day’ operational support to clinical and administration staff to guide and optimise their work and productivity levels.
  • The ability and experience in undertake intake and screening activities to determine client needs, and to assist clients to access appropriate services.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience in the youth and/or mental health sector which include working within a multidisciplinary team environment and providing effective complex care coordination (including clinical intake, assessment, treatment and service integration).
  • Advanced level of clinical and interpersonal skills (and demonstrated experience) in a range of mental health and/or community health service settings, which includes managing young people at risk of suicide and/or family violence/other abuse.

What we offer

A competitive sector remuneration package is on offer to the successful candidate with a base salary range of $89,271 to $93,073 (pro-rata) per annum, superannuation and access to PBI tax-free salary packaging.
