About headspace and RAV:

headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds, along with assistance in promoting young peoples’ wellbeing. This covers core areas including mental health, physical health, work and study support and alcohol and other drug services.

Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV) is the lead agency for headspace Bairnsdale including the newly funded headspace Sale Satellite service, which is governed by a consortium of local community organisations who provide expertise, support and advice to RAV. RAV is a valued provider of specialist family and relationship services. Our vision is for positive, respectful, safe and fulfilling relationships for all Australians. Our services and programs, which are provided from 16 centres across Victoria, include counselling, family dispute resolution, relationship education, family violence services, mental health services, senior relationship services and professional training. About the role:

Reporting to the Senior Manager Gippsland, you will lead, develop, implement, oversee and manage the operations, and the future growth and development of headspace Bairnsdale. You will communicate, promote and progress the vision and strategic plan of the centre amongst consortium partners, other services and broader community. You will oversee the day-to-day operation of the centre, and lead and oversee the recruitment of new staff, including private practitioners. You will also be responsible for the establishment and ongoing management of the newly funded headspace Sale Satellite Site and the Bushfire Outreach Program.
The successful candidate will need to develop the headspace Bairnsdale strategic plan, business plan and annual workplan in conjunction with RAV’s senior management, Gippsland Primary Health Network, consortium partners and headspace National Office, and ensure deliverables and key performance indicators are achieved.

This role is located in Bairnsdale on a fixed-term contract until June 2021, with the likelihood of extension. The successful candidate will be working full-time, including a Tuesday evening on an ongoing basis and attend relevant events.

Qualifications and Registrations:

  • Degree level qualifications in allied health, behavioural/social sciences, youth work, mental health nursing, or a related discipline.

Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience at effectively leading and reporting on complex planning and service development environments.
  • Demonstrated experience at managing and developing operational systems for a health and community services organisation including effectively planning and allocating resources in order to maximise operational efficiency and meeting funding deliverables.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively engage in leadership and management processes, including multidisciplinary and/or cross sector initiatives, and partnerships with a wide range of professionals, organisations and stakeholders.
  • Detailed understanding of the Australian health care system, particularly the primary health and mental health areas, including the range of professionals and organisations that work within, or come contact with the sector.

A competitive sector remuneration package is on offer to the successful candidate with gross base salary $114,654 per annum, superannuation and access to PBI tax-free salary packaging.
