Are you passionate about working with young people and committed to their health and wellbeing?
headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds, along with assistance in promoting young peoples’ wellbeing. This covers core areas including mental health, physical health, work and study support and alcohol and other drug services.
Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV) is the lead agency for headspace Bairnsdale including the newly funded headspace Sale Satellite service, which is governed by a consortium of local community organisations who provide expertise, support and advice to RAV. RAV is a valued provider of specialist family and relationship services. Our vision is for positive, respectful, safe and fulfilling relationships for all Australians. Our objective is to relieve suffering, distress and helplessness and to provide high quality, accessible and effective services for people with complex relationship issues. Our services and programs, which are provided from 16 centres across Victoria, include counselling, family dispute resolution, relationship education, family violence services, mental health services, senior relationship services and professional training. As a community-based, not-for-profit organisation with no religious affiliations, our services are for all members of the community, regardless of religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, lifestyle choice, cultural background or economic circumstances.
Reporting to the Senior Manager Gippsland, you will lead, develop, implement, oversee and manage the operations, and the future growth and development of headspace Bairnsdale. You will communicate, promote and progress the vision and strategic plan of the centre amongst consortium partners, other services and broader community. You will oversee the day-to-day operation of the centre, and lead and oversee the recruitment of new staff, including private practitioners. You will also be responsible for the establishment and ongoing management of the newly funded headspace Sale Satellite Site and the Bushfire Outreach Program.
The successful candidate will need to develop the headspace Bairnsdale strategic plan, business plan and annual workplan in conjunction with RAV’s senior management, Gippsland Primary Health Network, consortium partners and headspace National Office, and ensure deliverables and key performance indicators are achieved.
This role is located in Bairnsdale on a fixed-term contract until June 2021, with the likelihood of extension. The successful candidate will be working full-time, including a Tuesday evening on an ongoing basis and attend relevant events.
The position description can be viewed below or accessible at www.rav.org.au/careers.
A competitive sector remuneration package is on offer to the successful candidate with gross base salary $114,654 per annum, superannuation and access to PBI tax-free salary packaging. RAV is an ‘employer of choice’ in the community sector who provides best practice professional development, training and supervision and work and life balance conditions and benefits.
RAV is committed to building and supporting an inclusive and diverse workforce and encourages applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, those from cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds, LGBTIQA+ communities and people with disabilities. We are committed to the safety of our clients and staff and promote a child-safe work environment. We require all staff to have a satisfactory National Police Check and Working With Children Check. RAV is a public benevolent institution.
All headspace services are funded by the Australian Government Department of Health. Administration of funding is carried out by the headspace centre’s local Primary Health Network, in this case, Gippsland Primary Health Network.
