Policy Officer - Policy and Advocacy Team

The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists

The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (the College) is the peak body for advancing patient care and clinical excellence in clinical radiology and radiation oncology. The College is responsible for driving appropriate, high quality and safe use of medical imaging and radiation oncology through training, assessment and accreditation of radiologists and radiation oncologists, maintenance of quality and standards, and strategies to ensure the workforce is sufficient to support population needs in Australia and New Zealand.

The Policy Officer, Policy and Advocacy Team is a key role within the College. It is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of our policies, consultation responses, and positions across various key issues relevant to our members. This role provides secretariat support to the committees which shape these policies and provides project support as required.

You will report directly to the Executive Officer, Faculty of Clinical Radiology, and work closely and collaboratively with peers across the College. To succeed in this role, it is essential to have experience of policy development, including the ability to research, analyse and synthesise information from a range of sources, prepare policy documents and draft policy briefings. You will be highly organised, with the natural ability to prioritise tasks, and be known for your analytical and problem-solving capabilities. You will have experience supporting committees by managing agendas and taking minutes.

You will foster internal relationships across other units of the College to maintain a collaborative approach. You are a skilled communicator, with a proven track record in writing, who respects confidential landscapes and can work to your own initiative. You will thrive in a fast-paced and agile environment.

With a sophisticated work from home IT infrastructure in place to support staff during COVID-19 and an office in Sydney CBD, the College is a friendly, professional and positive working environment that fosters growth and development, as well as an excellent work life balance.

We encourage applicants of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent to apply.
