The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (the College) is the peak body for advancing patient care and clinical excellence in clinical radiology and radiation oncology. The College is responsible for driving appropriate, high quality and safe use of medical imaging and radiation oncology through training, assessment and accreditation of radiologists and radiation oncologists, maintenance of quality and standards, and strategies to ensure the workforce is sufficient to support population needs in Australia and New Zealand.

This newly created role will play a vital role within the College’s Policy and Advocacy Unit. The Health Economist will be responsible for ensuring that the College approaches health economics data collection and analysis in an innovative manner, makes informed and evidence based organisational decisions, as well as providing key input to the development of policies, strategic objectives and plans shaped by appropriate data and information through to implementation. 

Reporting directly to the Head of Policy and Advocacy, you will work closely with peers within the College as well as a varied group of external stakeholders. In this role you will manage the development of a broad data and evidence framework for the College, and you will have experience working within complex regulatory environments and delivering projects proactively. You have a proven track record in translating data analysis into sound business advice, as well as being known for your high level analytical, research and problem-solving skillset.  You will hold a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and have a solid knowledge of the Australia and New Zealand health systems and relevant funding arrangements.
