RANZCO is the medical college for ophthalmologists in Australia and New Zealand. Our vision is excellence and equity in eye care. This role is an important part of our strategy to further our digital transformation agenda through leveraging our current suite of applications, utilising technology to deliver member services and vocational training, exams and assessments in an engaging and user-friendly manner.

RANZCO has a small staff complement that “punches well above its weight” and has a three-year Strategic Plan 2021-2023, which aims to build on the College’s successes to date while clearly articulating our vision, mission and strategic priorities.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, results-focused, problem solving professional to provide subject matter expertise, business analysis and engagement across the organisation by translating and realising business strategies and objectives into tangible digital initiatives and overseeing the execution of those initiatives.

As the Senior Manager – Business Systems you will be responsible to:

  • Oversee management of digital projects including related budgets, business cases, requirements specifications, project plans, statements of work, prioritisation matrix, minutes, agendas, specifications, reports and other project documentation as required to maintain auditable processes.
  • Ensure RANZCO is provided with technical assurance as to the ongoing quality, integrity and continuity of the RANZCO’s digital platforms, and co-ordinate and administer ongoing application development under a regime of Continuous Improvement.
  • Take a lead role in bringing external knowledge, experience and best practice into RANZCO building a continuous improvement culture.

All applications are required to provide STAR responses to the following screening questions as part of their cover letter:

  • A proven track record in implementing strategic plans, complex procedures and communicating these to stakeholders in a not-for-profit membership organisation
  • A solid understanding of adult educational processes and experience working in the sector

  • Your greatest failure to date and how you managed through this. How did you cope and what did you learn from this experience?

This role is located in Surry Hills, Sydney, located conveniently opposite Central Station. However, currently staff are mostly working remotely from home (supplied with suitable technology) and will do so for the foreseeable future. There will be the need to attend the office on occasion and it is envisaged that long-term there will be a hybrid office/home working arrangement.

RANZCO is an equal opportunity employer with a candidate selection policy that encourages diversity and inclusion. Aboriginal or Torres Start Islander people with suitable qualifications and experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

RANZCO is a full health charity with associated salary packaging benefits as well as other progressive staff entitlements and a flexible work policy.
