Senior Manager - Advocacy and Policy

RANZCO is the medical college for ophthalmologists in Australia and New Zealand. Our vision is excellence and equity in eye care. This role is an important part of our strategy to further influence eye care in the region by developing strong relationships with governments at all levels.

As the Senior Manager - Advocacy and Policy you will be responsible for:

  • Driving and supporting RANZCO’s engagement with government departments and jurisdictions
  • Designing and implementing the RANZCO Advocacy Strategy
  • Developing and nurturing the College’s relationship with other key stakeholders relevant to the role
  • Maintaining a wide range of key external stakeholder relationships on behalf of RANZCO
  • Conducting research and developing draft submissions, reports or proposals to inform or support RANZCO’s policy and advocacy activities
  • Managing and informing key projects including (but not limited to) activities related to the Medicare Benefits System and Indigenous eye health initiatives
  • Supporting and liaising with relevant RANZCO Committees as appropriate
  • Developing and/or maintaining policies and procedures for all areas of responsibility

This role can be located in any area for the right candidate, but will require regular travel to Canberra if not located there. Our office is located in Surry Hills, opposite Central Station.

RANZCO is a full health charity with associated salary packaging benefits as well as other progressive staff entitlements and a flexible work policy. A salary package range of $105K to $120K plus 11.5% Super is on offer.
