The Opportunity

An integral member of the leadership team, the Operations Manager will be leading and managing the daily operations of the Homelessness to Homes team, and related employees and budgets; ensuring overall effective program delivery. Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, your key accountabilities include:

  • Providing leadership, expert advice, and support to the team, including regular, formal supervision and debriefing to Team Leaders, and driving the delivery of best practice, solution focused case management services.
  • Monitoring overall program performance and quality compliance, and ensuring service delivery meets specific standards, guidelines, funding agreements and legislative requirements.
  • Developing, documenting, implementing, monitoring, and reviewing operational procedures and guidelines in accordance to program plans and organisation policies.
  • Participating in, and facilitating meetings, debriefing, supervision, training, and forums, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to support better services and outcomes.
  • Managing HR needs, including workforce planning and end-to-end recruitment, and completing regular reporting.

The Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Qualifications in Human Services, or an Allied Health discipline, with significant experience in leadership/management roles within the Community Services sector.
  • Proven ability to deliver high performing, outcome focused programs in a complex social services and contract monitored environment.
  • Strong business and governance acumen; ability to understand business operations, as well as basic corporate accounting, finance, report writing, quality and compliance, and management principles.
  • Demonstrated skills in conflict resolution, negotiation, and mediation, and proven experience in developing partnerships with stakeholders from all levels.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, such as the Child Safe Standards, and understanding of the homelessness service system, with knowledge of patterns, trends, and systemic issues.

Availability to participate in on-call & after hours support functions required. All successful applicants are required to have a current First Aid Certificate, AFP NPC, VIC WWCC, valid Driver Licence, and Rights to Work in Australia.
