Please note this role requires that you have qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling.

We also require that the successful applicant has valid Working with Children Check and Criminal Check or be willing to acquire these.

About this Role

You will be responsible for managing all aspects of our In School Mentoring Opportunity (Ismo) program in your designated school. From liaising with the school’s Principal and staff contact person, to ensuring the well-being of your mentees, as well as supporting and supervising your volunteer mentors each week during the program at the school.

About You

As a Program Counsellor you will be a dynamic, engaging and passionate professional with qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling.

You are a community-minded individual with a genuine interest in the well-being of young people. Your vibrant personality will engage both the mentees and volunteer mentors during the session each week, as the nature of this role requires you to lead group activities in the session, supervise the mentoring matches and facilitate a debrief with the mentors each week.

Your outstanding skills in communication and organisation will see the program run smoothly with the partnering school, as you will work closely with an appointed school contact to ensure a high standard of program delivery. Most importantly, you are someone who really understands young people.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Salesforce or another CRM platform as essential to ensure the smooth running of your programs.

You will report to and work closely with your Program Area Manager.

This position will manage one of QLD school programs, in Albany Creek.

It is a casual position for 5 hours per week, until end November 2020, paid under the Social Community, Home Care and Disability Services (SCHADS) Award, Grade 5 and Salary packaging is available.
