Raise Foundation impacts youth wellbeing and engagement through early intervention mentoring programs. We exist to ensure that young people feel heard, valued and supported.

Our best practice youth mentor programs empower young people to become resilient, capable and connected. In 2021, we are aiming to reach 2, 500 young people in public secondary schools across Australia.

We are looking for a qualified counsellor with experience in team leadership and ideally youth mentoring, to lead a team of Program Counsellors based in and around Sydney

About this Role

Please note this role requires that you have qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or other relevant degree and prior team leadership experience.

Our Program Area Managers lead a team of Program Counsellors who deliver our youth mentoring programs in public high schools. This role is responsible for supporting and managing a cohesive and effective team of Program Counsellors, providing them with the supervision required to ensure a high standard of delivery of our programs.

Reporting to the State Manager, the role also works with key internal and external stakeholders (school partners, representatives from the Department of Community and Justice, Corporate Partners and other local government or community groups) to promote Raise programs within their area.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Assessing the potential of new school and community partners for Raise Programs and pitching the Raise program to new schools,
  • Team recruitment needs,
  • Managing team budgets, working closely with other PAMs interstate on projects and timelines,
  • Building relationships to assist in the recruitment of mentors for Raise programs, with the support of the Raise Marketing team,
  • Mentee wellbeing and the escalation of any mandatory reporting requirements to the school as required,
  • Evaluation of our programs on completion.

About You

As a Program Area Manager, you will be a dynamic, engaging and passionate professional with qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling. You will have had prior experience leading a team. Most importantly, you are someone who really understands young people.

You are a community minded individual with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of young people. Your vibrant personality will engage your team. Your outstanding skills in communication and organisation will see your program area run smoothly.

Your excellent interpersonal skills will be underpinned by your outstanding attention to detail, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office to ensure that all administrative requirements of your role are in place. Experience with Salesforce, another CRM is ideal.

You will have or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check and National Crime check.
